Meet Eclectic Leigh
Eclectic's passion for storytelling began at an early age. As a child, she wrote and illustrated her very own children's book, proudly presenting it to her classmates as a school project. Her teacher recognized the originality and imagination behind her work, awarding it full marks and encouraging her creative talent. Although life would take her on many unexpected paths, that childhood accomplishment remained close to her heart. Today, she has fulfilled a lifelong dream by transforming that cherished story into her debut published children's book, allowing a new generation of young readers to experience the same sense of wonder and imagination that inspired her years ago.
Beyond her creativity, Eclectic's life has been defined by remarkable perseverance. After sustaining a traumatic brain injury (TBI), she was faced with significant personal and academic challenges. Rather than allowing those obstacles to define her future, she met them with determination and resilience. Eclectic graduated from high school as a junior and went on to earn her college degree with a 3.34 GPA, proving that strength of character, dedication, and perseverance can overcome even the most difficult circumstances.
Her third and perhaps most personal project is a memoir titled Milemarker 259. In this deeply moving work, Eclectic shares her firsthand experience of living through and recovering from a traumatic brain injury. More than a story of survival, Milemarker 259 is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, exploring the challenges, victories, setbacks, and life lessons that have shaped her journey. Eclectic hopes the book will serve as a source of hope and encouragement for individuals and families facing similar circumstances while raising awareness about the realities of traumatic brain injuries.
